St. Mary's senior tailback Anthony Bonsi rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns to help propel the Crusaders to a 58-36 victory over Riddle in nonleague football action at Spiegelberg Stadium on Saturday night.
Bonsi, who had nine carries, broke off scoring runs of 65, 50 and 33 yards for St. Mary's, which led 42-8 at halftime. The Crusaders stuck mostly to the ground, rushing for 467 yards.
Quarterback Denton Edwards finished with scoring runs of 19 and 15 yards and a 29-yard TD strike to Spencer McCabe. He had 76 rushing yards on five carries and completed three of his six passing attempts for 86 yards.
Spencer Cox had eight carries for 71 yards and two touchdowns — including a 59-yard scoring sprint — for St. Mary's (1-1).
Jacob Smith had six carries for 74 yards against Riddle, which outscored the Crusaders 28-16 in the second half.
Jacob Maurer threw a pair of TD passes for the Irish (0-3).

ROSEBURG INVITATIONAL — At Roseburg, Roseburg swept Grants Pass, 25-18, 25-12, in the Roseburg Invitational championship match.
The Indians beat Santiam, 25-23, 25-17, in the semifinals and downed Ashland, 25-19, 25-18, in the quarterfinals.
Twelve teams competed in the invite.
CAMAS VALLEY 3, BUTTE FALLS 0 — At Butte Falls, Whitney Lindsey paced Camas Valley in kills and the Hornets got key service runs from Kiera Rhoten and Kayla Tilton to earn a 25-15, 25-17, 25-7 nonleague win.
Butte Falls dropped to 0-2 overall, while Camas Valley improved to 4-1.
Boys Water Polo
MEDFORD LOSES TWICE — At Ashland, the Medford boys lost two games, falling 15-5 to South Salem and 15-2 to Sheldon at the Southern Oregon University pool.
Against South Salem, Cody Schultz had two goals and five blocks, and Marissa Drake scored twice. Goalie Geoffrey Pine had six blocks, and Bram Gibson tallied the team's other goal.
Against Sheldon, Pine amassed 12 blocks, and goals were scored by Walker Drew and Schultz.
Girls Water Polo
ASHLAND EIGHTH IN TOURNEY — At Newberg, Ashland went 1-2 on the day to finish eighth out of nine teams in the Newberg Tournament.
Sabrina Scoggin had five goals and three assists, Sadie Kasiah three goals, two steals and one assist and Kaya Boehm five blocks for the Grizzlies in a 10-8 loss to Newberg.
Kasiah then turned in two goals and three assists, Scoggin two goals and Boehm four blocks as Ashland beat South Eugene, 12-3.
Maddy Longshore recorded three goals and one steal, Kasiah two goals and two assists, Aubrie Georgevitch one goal, one assist and two steals and Boehm four blocks in an 11-8 loss to Tigard.
