People's Bank of Commerce said Monday it has extended its stock offering until Oct. 30, or when shares are bought before that date. Medford's lone locally based bank released an offering circular on June 10.
The plan to raise $5 million through an offering of 500,000 shares at $10 each was announced in April and put into action in June. The offering had been scheduled to end Aug. 31.
Chief Executive Officer Ken Trautman said 90 percent of the shares offered have been sold. "We have fewer than 30,000 shares left for sale. We want to make sure that all investors that want to buy People's Bank stock get the opportunity." The offering will allow People's Bank to better meet local credit and deposit needs, Trautman said.
People's Bank of Commerce commenced operations in March 1998 and conducts business from its main office and a branch office in Medford, with branch offices in Ashland and Central Point. It plans to open an office in Grants Pass.
