Two years ago, Great Harvest Bread Company moved to a larger location at 203 Genessee Street in Medford in order to offer a lunch menu. Customers have responded enthusiastically, making the bakery/café a popular place to socialize and enjoy a healthy lunch.
"We keep it simple and fresh," says Lisa Allen, the co-owner with her husband, Dan. "We always incorporate our whole grain breads, which are our core product. We always choose quality meats and ingredients."
Serving lunch on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the menu includes hot and cold sandwiches and soup. Customer sandwich favorites include the Cowboy Cobb, the Tablerock Turkey and the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Salad, a signature sandwich for the restaurant, made with spicy pecans. Water flavored with fresh lemons is always available along with a coffee bar serving organic teas and coffees.
"We built our business on the philosophy of freshness," Allen says. "Customers like the open, friendly atmosphere here that has always been a part of our bakery's personality. We are also so blessed with the crew we have working for us who make the effort to get to know our customers."
