    "Edie Edith Johannah (Howard) Young, 90, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. Edie was born February 27, 1923 in Consort, Alberta, Canada to Morton and Clara (Lysgaard) Howard. Her mother was visiting a sick family member in Canada when Edie was born.
    Edie was raised in Billings, Mont. where she later met and married Bernard Young on April 12, 1941. They had one daughter, Bernardine, and eventually settled in Gold Hill, Ore. Edie was a good wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching the Oregon Ducks, Portland Trailblazers, Rodeo, a good cup of coffee, and a good joke.
    Edie is survived by her sisters, Grace Satterthwaite, and Hannah (Martin) Berschied of Billings, Mont.; grandson, Mike (Jill) McConnell of Roseburg, Ore.; great-granddaughter, Courtney McConnell; great-grandson, Brandon McConnell; special friends Terry and Annie Hulse of Gold Hill, Ore.; her BFF, Dawn Fletcher; and lots of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ethel; brothers, Norm and Les; husband, Bernard; and daughter and son-in-law, Bernardine and Mac McConnell.
    Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, OR. Family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W. 6th Street, Medford, OR 97501. Arrangements by Conger Morris Funeral Home.
