  • PORTLAND — No goals came of another aggressive effort by the Southern Oregon University women's soccer team, but the Raider defense made sure Carroll College went scoreless too in a draw Sunday afternoon on the campus of Concordia University.
The Raiders (3-2-2) held a 17-5 advantage in shots after 90 minutes of regulation and a pair of 10-minute overtime periods. They got five on goal compared to the Saints' two.
SOU's stellar defense helped secure the fourth shutout of the season for freshman goalkeeper Kylie Moltzen, holding Carroll without a shot in overtime.
The Saints, who compete in the Frontier Conference, went to 3-2-1 overall.
The Raiders, who defeated Trinity Lutheran 1-0 in OT on Thursday at Concordia, have gone to overtime on four occasions this season.
Oregon Tech will come to Ashland for a 1 p.m. nonleague contest on Saturday in what will be SOU's final tuneup before opening Cascade Conference play at home on Oct. 3 against Northwest Christian.
