Nevina De Luca, Phoenix girls cross country
The junior was second in her division in the Northwest Classic. De Luca covered 5,000 meters in 19:01 as the Pirates finished second. Her time was seven seconds faster than her previous personal best.
Troy Fowler, North Medford football
The junior quarterback hit on touchdowns of 28 and 65 yards in the fourth quarter, the latter with 41 seconds left, as the Black Tornado upset No. 3 Sheldon. Fowler threw for 305 yards, completing 16 of 35 passes.
Anthony Gomez, South Medford football
The senior running back averaged 26.7 yards on six carries, going for 160 as the Panthers beat South Eugene, 32-7, for their first win. He set up TDs with runs of 51 and 56 yards and scored a TD from the 3.
Jose Lopez-Ramirez, Eagle Point boys soccer
Lopez-Ramirez scored both goals in the second half as the Eagles downed Klamath Union 2-0 in nonleague play. He hit from the top of the 18-yard box and connected on a short, low shot.
Alee Pinkerton, Prospect volleyball
The senior setter missed just one serve in 25 attempts as Prospect stayed unbeaten with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-9 Mountain Valley League win over Gilchrist. Pinkerton also had 14 aces and 10 assists.
