  • Champion Raceway will honor community members who are fighting breast cancer with a drag racing event Friday, Oct. 11, at the raceway, 6900 Kershaw Road, Medford.
Gates open at 5 p.m., and races start at 7 p.m.
Burnout for Breast Cancer is also for family members and friends of those fighting against breast cancer. It's a cooperative effort between the Southern Oregon Cancer Awareness Foundation and the Champion Raceway.
The event will raise funds to help those surviving with incidentals such as post mastectomy garments, women's prostheses, and the burden of additional expense as local women travel the path of recovery.
The cost is $10 for adult spectators, $8 for youth 9 to 14 years old, and free admission for 8 years old and under. There is a $30 fee for drivers who wish to hone their skills behind the wheel.
There also will be a silent auction.
For more information on how to donate or help at the event, email championraceway@yahoo.com.
