The Idaho Junior Steelheads used a five-goal run to pull away from Southern Oregon in a 7-2 victory at The RRRink on Saturday.
The victory clinched the two-match series sweep for the defending national champions, who won 5-1 on Friday in the Spartans' season opener.
Justus Saldeen's power play goal on assists from Austin Sartorius and Ben Henry gave Southern Oregon a 1-0 lead in the first period, but then the Spartans allowed five straight.
Southern Oregon's Nick Beaune scored on assists from Rob Donovan and Mike Kowicki at the 16:26 mark of the second period.
Luc Gensler had two goals and August Von Ungern-Sternberg three assists for Idaho (5-0) in the Western States Hockey League match.
Spartans goalkeeper Ian Dvorak recorded 29 saves.
The Spartans (0-2) next travel to Ogden for a three-match series beginning Oct. 11.
