Author Cornel West to speak at SOU

Author and political analyst Cornel West will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall in Ashland.

West is the author of "Race Matters," "Democracy Matters" and his memoir, "Brother West: Living and Loving Out Loud."

West has made TV appearances and appeared in more than 25 documentaries and films. His Ashland appearance is being hosted by Southern Oregon University and Rogue Community College.

Tickets for the event cost $30 for the public, but admission is free for SOU students and staff. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the information desk in SOU's Stevenson Union.
