  • Rogue Community College reported several student programs and services have been affected by the federal shutdown.
    Other programs are continuing operations.
Kori Bieber, vice president of RCC student services, said the Pell Grant program has been impacted. In addition, employees who work for the Veterans Administration and the VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program have been furloughed.
Department of Education programs, including SEOG, TRiO, GEARUP, Title III and Title V, could be significantly impacted, as Department of Education staff aren't available to provide technical assistance.
A majority of operations for the Direct Student Loan Program will continue, as will Perkins Center and Technical Education funds.
"We're staying informed about the situation and we will do our best to support students," Bieber said in a news release.
