Two men were seriously injured this evening in a high-speed head-on collision of two vehicles at Riverside and Stewart avenues in south Medford.
The crash occurred at 7:37 p.m. when a silver Honda sedan traveling north on Riverside Avenue at what witnesses said was a high rate of speed jumped the median and crashed head-on with a blue Scion sedan headed south on Riverside Avenue, according to the Medford Police Department.
Both drivers were unconscious when police and firefighters arrived at the scene, and the driver of the silver sedan had to be cut out of the wreckage, Medford police Sgt. D.J. Graham said at the scene.
Both were rushed by ambulance to the Rogue Regional Medical Facility for treatment, and there was no immediate word on their status or identities.
