Spartans can't get first win

OGDEN, Utah — The Southern Oregon Spartans hockey team wasn't able to get its season on track against Ogden, which used a quick start to beat the Spartans 8-4 and pick up a three-game sweep at The Ice Sheet on Sunday.

The Mustangs sprung out to a 4-0 lead until Logan Myers put the Spartans (0-5) on the board midway through the second period.

Arturs Buss followed with the first of his two goals in the contest and Mike Kowicki also scored for the Spartans, who head to Seattle to take on the Totems on Friday.

Ogden (7-0) received goals from eight different players.
