ASHLAND — The Southern Oregon University soccer team scored for the second time in its last 10 meetings with Concordia but needed a little more Thursday in a 2-1 Cascade Conference loss at University Field.

Erin Huisingh knocked in the game-winner in the 73rd minute, taking her defender one-on-one with a 15-yard shot that traveled from the left end of the box to the right side of the goal.

With the victory, the second-ranked Cavaliers (10-1-1 overall, 4-0-0 CCC) snatched first place from the Raiders (7-3-3, 3-1-1), who had been unbeaten in their previous seven matches.

Julie Zamzow gave SOU the lead — its first against CU since 2001 — in the 14th minute when she intercepted CU keeper Olivia Brock's attempt to clear the ball and converted an 18-yard kick from the left side.

The goal was Zamzow's third of the season.
