Cody Parker scored four straight touchdowns in three different fashions to lead the Cascade Christian football team in one of its best all-around performances of the season Friday.
The Challengers surrendered the game's opening touchdown to Illinois Valley, but kept the Cougars out of the end zone the rest of the way in a 55-10 Southern Cascade Hybrid rout at U.S. Cellular Community Park.
The Challengers (6-2, 2-0 SCH) held a 14-7 edge after the first quarter, but Parker single-handedly distanced Cascade Christian from IV in the second quarter by scoring all three of the team's touchdowns.
Parker had touchdown runs of 13 and 24 yards, then capped the half with a 13-yard touchdown catch from Seth Knox.
Parker put the Challengers up 41-7 at the beginning of the third period with his fourth touchdown of the game — a 20-yard interception return.
"He's a talented kid," said Challengers coach Jon Gettman. "We use him all over the field. He's got great speed, great hands, great vision with the ball. He's done a great job and he's explosive when he gets the ball in his hands."
Parker finished with seven carries for 95 yards and added six catches for 57 yards.
