Unbeaten Hornets buzz past Cougars

CAMAS VALLEY — Weston Tilton and Josh Mattox accounted for three touchdowns each as undefeated Camas Valley blanked Prospect, 60-0, in District 2 football action on Saturday.

The Cougars (4-4, 4-3 Dist. 2) were held to 62 total yards and three first downs.

Tilton ran back a 60-yard punt return and 64-yard interception for scores, and also caught a 50-yard TD strike from Mattox.

Mattox chipped in a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown and a 2-yard scoring scamper for the Hornets (8-0, 7-0).

HOSANNA CHRISTIAN 3, PROSPECT 0 — At Prospect, Hosanna Christian cruised past Prospect, 25-11, 25-19, 25-10, in Mountain Valley League action.

Hosanna Christian improved to 12-3 overall, 9-1 in league.

Prospect, which dropped to 10-2 overall and 8-2 in the MVL, hosts Paisley on Wednesday. The winner advances to districts and the loser is out.

Boys Water Polo

ASHLAND SWEEPS — At Salem, Ashland downed West Salem (11-8), Westview (11-4) and Sprague (15-7) at the South Salem Tournament to earn a berth in today's championship.

Against West Salem, Taos Cadarette-Stewart had four goals and Hoku Eggertsen two goals and two assists. Cadarette-Stewart went for four goals against Westview, while Luke Abell chipped in three goals and goalkeeper Vincent Wright made seven saves.

Against Sprague, Eggertsen recorded four goals, three steals and three blocks and Cole Harding had four goals.

Girls Water Polo

ASHLAND TAKES THREE — At Salem, Ashland defeated West Salem (11-8), Lake Oswego (10-3) and Madras (9-8) to secure a spot in today's South Salem Tournament final.

Against West Salem, Sabrina Scoggin had four goals, three assists and three steals and Sadie Kasiah three goals and three assists. Scoggin registered three goals, four assists and two steals, Kasiah three goals and two assists and goalkeeper Kaya Boehm six blocks against Lake Oswego.

Scoggin had five goal and two steals, Maddy Longshore two goals and Kasiah one goal, three assists and two steals against Madras.
