Patchy Sanders at Ashland Community Center

An all-ages CD release party for Patchy Sanders' debut album, "Patchy Sanders & The Wild Peach Forest," will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way.

The band — sisters Danielle (banjo) and Jacqueline (vocals) Aubert, Ian Van Ornum (mandolin), Daniel Sherrill (guitar), Alex Patterson (drums), Eric Jones (upright bass) and Sara Wilbur (violin) — spent the last 10 months working on the 11-track, acoustic, "alternative-Americana" album from Loud Palace Studios in Weed, Calif.

The album starts out with a batch of "bumpin', barn party music," but the tracks slow down and become more introspective as the album progresses, Sherrill says.

Danielle Aubert, Van Ornum and Sherrill all contributed original songs to the album, each in his or her own style. Aubert writes first-person narratives about intimate experiences with nature and her family. Sherrill incorporates a sense of lucid dreaming into his songs and, at one point on the album, converses with a bird. Van Ornum's compositions "make you feel like you're sitting on a bed of moss," Sherrill says.

"They are very loving, easy and beautiful," he adds.

The release party is free. Copies of the new album will be available for $15 at the show or at www.patchysanders.com.
