    Marilyn passed away October 19, 2013, in Ashland, Ore. She was born February 27, 1929, in Albion, Mich. to Smith "Wayne" Stevens and Belle Marie Stevens (n`ee) Barnes. She attended school in Albion and graduated with a BA from Albion College in 1951, then earned an MA from Michigan State University in 1973.
    Known for many years as "the lady in the long dress," Marilyn graced her Ashland store, Unicorn Gifts and Toys, for over 20 years. She sold the business to her daughter and son-in-law in 2009. Throughout her life, Marilyn loved art and children. She aimed to make the world a more beautiful place in every sense. A lover of trees and flowers, her family will have a tree dedicated in her memory in Ashland's Lithia Park.
    She is survived by her three children, Karen Beels of Ashland, Ore.; Mark McCurry of Monterey, Calif.; and Tom McCurry of Santa Rosa, Calif; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daryl Stevens.
