Leola R. Rush, of Medford, Ore. passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 6:36 a.m. in her home. She was born April 14, 1914 to David and Mary Mesquit in Watsonville, Calif. On July 14, 1936, she married Major Rush in Santa Maria, Calif.
Leola lived more than 80 years in Central Calif. and moved with her husband to Medford, Ore. in 1995 and lived on Creekview until her passing. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed floral design and painting.
Her heritage started with her great-great-great-grandfather, Manual Butron, a Spanish soldier, who came to California with Father Junipero Serra, a spanish missionary who founded many California missions. He married a mission Native-American and settled in Carmel Valley
She is survived by her son, Douglas; three grandchildren, Lisa, David, and Michael; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Rush; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Perl Funeral Home.
