  • A 49-year-old woman has been accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the back during a domestic dispute Halloween night, causing serious injuries, Medford police reported today.
Geri Elmore, of the 700 block of Mindy Sue, is in the Jackson County Jail on $1 million bail. She is facing a first-degree assault charge, according to a police news release.
Police first learned about the victim, 47-year-old Stephen Saltmarsh, after he arrived at Providence Medford Medical Center at about 9:15 p.m. with a stab wound to the back, the release said. He had been driven there by a private party. He underwent surgery and was stable Thursday afternoon, police said.
Medford police detectives believe Elmore stabbed Saltmarsh during a verbal dispute at a home the two share on Mindy Sue in west Medford. Police obtained a search warrant of the residence and recovered evidence that led them to arrest Elmore, the release said. Alcohol was involved, police said.
