  • Flowers Wharton
    Mary Cleone Flowers Wharton was born September 20, 1927 to Clarence Eugene and Cora Belle Lewis in Putnam County, Mo. She is survived by her sister, Roseva Cottonham of Spakane Valley, Wash.; husband, Bruce Alan Wharton of Central Point, Ore.; children, Cynthia A. Flowers of Medford, Ore., Gayle (Flowers) Reed of Gold Hill, Ore., Tom Flowers of Clear Lake, Texas, and John Flowers of Mt. View, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    She was married for 52 years to Dr. Max Flowers, Jr., who had a family practice in Central Point, Ore. for many years. He passed away September 8, 2001. She was later blessed to meet another wonderful man, Bruce Alan Wharton, whom she married October 9, 2005.
    She will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, and generous mother and wife. She loved to paint and dance, and was an avid bridge player and golfer. She was active in both the Presbyterian and Catholic churches.
    Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday November 9, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church of Central Point located at 456 W. Pine St., Central Point, OR 97502.
