Hwy. 39 crash causes delays

A 25-year-old woman took out a power pole along Hwy. 39 in Klamath County Saturday night, creating problems for highway, utility and railroad crews and motorists.

However, Devon M. Kirkpatrick, 25, of Malin, who was driving an Acura MDX sport utility vehicle, walked away from the single-vehicle crash south of Klamath Falls with only a ticket for failure to maintain her lane.

Oregon State Police reported the highway was closed about six hours as Pacific Power personnel repaired the power pole and down power lines well into Sunday. Power lines fell across the highway and Union Pacific Railroad line paralleling the road.
