Veterans Day events
Southern Oregon University Veterans Day Lunch, noon, Rogue River Room, Stevenson Union, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. U.S. Rep. Greg Walden will speak.
Oregon Fallen War Heroes Memorial Commemoration Ceremony, 9 to 10 a.m., Don Jones City Park on Hamrick Road. U.S. Rep. Greg Walden will speak. Contact Jennifer Boardman at 541-423-1042.
- Veterans Day Parade, 11 a.m., on Main Street from Hawthorne Street to Oakdale Avenue.
- At 3 p.m., American Legion Post 15, 100 E. Jackson St., will serve free hot dogs to veterans. Contact Brett Johnson at 541-499-5587.
- Free lunch for veterans and active members of the U.S. military, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Texas Roadhouse, 1720 Delta Waters Road. All military, whether active or retired, can choose one of 10 entrees, two sides and nonalcoholic beverage. Proof of service includes military or Veterans Administration card or discharge papers.
- Veterans Day Ceremony, 2 p.m., Medford Veterans Park, at the corner of Maple Grove and Armory drives. U.S. Rep. Greg Walden will speak.
A 10 a.m. celebration at the Southern Oregon Resource Center and Clinics, 8495 Crater Lake Highway, will salute all veterans and active duty military and honor America's fallen heroes. Sgt. Mark Dalton and U.S. Rep. Greg Walden will speak. The Rogue Valley Symphonic Band will play, and there will be a veterans' recognition, a children's patriotic activity and refreshments.
