  • A pair of late goals doomed the Southern Oregon Spartans hockey team as the Seattle Totems captured a 4-2 victory in the first of a two-game Western States Hockey League series at The RRRink on Friday.
    The Spartans' Donnie Nagle IV knotted the score 2-all on an assist from Arturs Buss about six minutes into the third period, but the Totems' Braden Stratton connected with about five minutes remaining and Eric Danna padded the lead for Seattle (6-7) with another goal three minutes later.
    Mike Kowicki netted six minutes into the contest for the Spartans (2-8), who had a 51-39 shot advantage.
    The game tonight starts and 7:30, and it's Military Appreciation Night.
