Lenora M. Uhrhane passed away October 29, 2013 at Avamere in Medford, Ore. Lenora was born September 8, 1915 in Yankton, S.D. to Henry and Magdalena Mueller.
Lenora graduated from Yankton High School in 1932 and after college education, she taught grade school in South Dakota. In 1940 she accepted a position with The Bureau of Census in Washington D.C. On June 30, 1945 she married Clarence P. Uhrhane. In October of 1945 they moved to New York City where Clarence was an Actuary with The Metropolitan Life Insurance, Co.
Lenora attended fashion school and became an instructor at the Traphagen School of Fashion. She received the Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1970 and the Master of Arts Degree in 1972 from New York University. She wrote two family history books, one on the Haar family side and one on the Mueller family side. She enjoyed many cultural events and educational opportunities in New York City. She had a passion for millinery, floristry, jewelry designing, tailoring and fashion design.
After her husband's death in September, 2003, Lenora moved to Central Point, Ore. in July, 2005. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Medford, Ore.
She is survived by sisters, Ruth M. Clay and Bettelu Harper and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and two brothers, Walter and Theodore Mueller. At her request, no service will be held.
