  • New Jersey artist Willie Cole's exhibit, "Transformations and Illuminations,” is a collection of sculptures made from recycled materials. It also includes an installation, “From Water to Light,” made from 10,000 recycled plastic water bottles. Portland artist Daniel Duford shows us his “The Traveler and the Housewife: Deluxe Edition,” a 15-page, large-scale woodcut comic that he created during his artist residency at Southern Oregon University. There also is a continual screening of a series of short, contemporary videos in the Treehaven Gallery. This project, titled “Black Manifold,” curated by Avantika Bawa and Greg Minissale, explores the color black and how it’s used in society and politics.
The exhibits will be displayed through Saturday, Dec. 7, at the museum on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There is a $5 suggested donation. Call 541-552-6245 or see www.sou.edu/sma.
