  • Southern Oregon Goodwill Industries has named Don Richie area manager of mission services in Jackson County. Richie has 15 years of experience in higher education, serving as both administrator and faculty member. He worked for Klamath Community College and Oregon Institute of Technology in career and technical education, business management, leadership and organizational development. Prior to that, Richie served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, retiring as security forces superintendent at Kingsley Field.
    The Central Point resident earned a bachelor's degree in management from Northwest Christian University, as well as a master's in business and a doctorate in organization and management from Capella University.
    Jeffrey Bridgford, vice president and commercial banking relationship manager; and Blair Sundell, vice president and commercial banking relationship manager, have earned U.S. Bank's Pinnacle Award.
    Bridgford and Sundell were among the bank's top 10 percent of performers nationwide. This is the third Pinnacle award for both men, who work with clients in the Medford, Grants Pass and Klamath Falls.
    The American Association of Private Lenders has named Bob Cox of Pacific Capital Solutions in Medford to its board of advisors. The changes were announced by company CEO Mike Wrenn. The Kansas City, Mo.-based organization was founded in 2009 and serves private money lenders, hard money lenders, mortgage fund managers, brokers and service providers. Cox's term is two years.
    Richard Muckey, chief lending officer at Rogue Credit Union, has been elected president of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Oregon's board. The CCCS board is rounded out by vice president Christina Kruger, operations manager at Pacific Power, and secretary-treasurer Kristi Schoenbachler, chief financial manager at Medical Eye Center.
    Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a nonprofit United Way Agency providing free counseling and education in the realm of budgeting and money management.
    Chris Browne has joined U.S. Bank as branch manager at the Central Point office on East Pine Street.
    Browne has more than 18 years experience in the financial industry. Most recently he was branch manager for AmericanWest Bank in Central Point. Before that, he was branch manager at the downtown Medford PremierWest Bank office and previously was a branch manager with Key Bank for more than three years.
    Browne has been a Junior Achievement board member and instructor for the past five years.
    Christopher Acebo of Ashland has been named by Gov. John Kitzhaber to the Oregon Arts Commission board. The Ashland resident is the associate artistic director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. His work at OSF includes collaborating on season planning, creative team selection, casting, strategic planning and producing the festival productions.
    He was an assistant professor in the Theater and Dance Department at California State University, Los Angeles from 2002 to 2007. Acebo is a recipient of an NEA/TCG fellowship and several awards and has served on selection panels for the NEA, Playwrights Center and the Steering Committee for the LatinoTheatre Commons Convening in 2013.
    Jackson Care Connect's Community Advisory Council elected Jean Atalla as its 2013-14 co-chair. Jackson Care Connect is a local coordinated care organization dealing with Oregon Health Plan recipients.
    Atalla is a communications and project specialist at Living Opportunities in Medford, and is an advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is also president of the board of directors of ARC of Jackson County. Previously she was the division director for developmental disabilities at Jackson County Health and Human Services.
