4A Hornets sting 6A Tornado in opener

KLAMATH FALLS — Henley junior post Natalie DeLonge had 19 points to lead the Class 4A Hornets to a season-opening 42-32 victory over 6A North Medford at Henley High on Wednesday.

Joci Ellis had 18 points and Alexia Hall added 10 rebounds, three points and three steals for the Black Tornado, which made just eight of its 64 field-goal attempts.

North, which found itself in early foul trouble, trailed 25-18 at halftime.

The lanky DeLonge didn't make life easy, North head coach Tim Karrick said.

"She was tough," he said. "She alters a lot of shots."

Kathleen Martin chipped in four steals and four points for North.
