Patricia Ann Piter passed away peacefully Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the age of 86 with family and close friends by her side.

Patricia was born July 12, 1927 to Helen and Carl Hess in Oil City, Pa. Her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio when she was young. She graduated from high school and attended the Cleveland College of Business where she majored in office management.

She met Steve Piter in 1955 and they were married May 26, 1956 in Three Rivers, California.

They moved to southern Oregon in 1957 and began a family. Pat was as an excellent homemaker, a loving and devoted wife, and mother of two. She also worked as a bookkeeper at various lumber companies in the Rogue Valley.

Pat loved animals and enjoyed cooking, Tole painting, walking in the great outdoors, and spending time with her family. The most important thing in Pat's life was her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith carried her through the last months of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Piter; children, Marla and Martin Piter; and granddaughters, Ashley, Roseanna, and Desiree.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hope Christian Church, 325 Oak St. Central Point, Oregon.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
