  • Live trees can be donated to city, county

  • Do you know of any organizations or agencies in the Rogue Valley that will accept donations of live trees and plant them somewhere, like in a park? I would like to consider buying a live tree for the holidays this year, but I don't own the property I live on, so I have nowhere to plant it afterward. I wonder if more people would buy live trees if they had a way to make sure they get planted.

Yes, Anna. There is a live Christmas tree Santa Claus.
And in this case, his names are Jackson County and the city of Medford. There may be others, but we'll start there.
"We would be happy to accept trees that are healthy and in good shape," said Steve Lambert, Jackson County Parks Department manager.
Anyone with a live tree they'd like to donate can call the Parks Department at 541-774-8183, Lambert said.
The city of Medford will also accept trees, and they ask that you call City Arborist Adam Airoldi at 541-774-2690 to set up an appointment.
