A Shady Cove man armed with knife allegedly attempted to rob the Eagle Point Walmart just after 5 p.m. Thursday, but was arrested by city police, records show.

Joshua Alan Danks, 22, of the 1700 block of Wedgewood Drive, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of second-degree robbery, third-degree theft and carrying a concealed weapon, jail records show.

Danks was arraigned today in Jackson County Circuit Court solely on the second-degree robbery charge and Judge Timothy Barnack reduced his bail to $50,000 from more than $1 million, court records show.

A preliminary hearing for Danks is scheduled for Dec. 20, records show.

Danks has a laundry list of a criminal history in Jackson County. Just since 2009 he has been arrested on multiple theft, burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, assault, disorderly conduct, drug and weapons charges, court records show.
