  • Conastance Ann Galvin
    Constance Ann Galvin of San Jose, Calif. passed away peacefully with her family by her side December 11, 2013 in San Jose. She was 91 years old. Connie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen West and son, John Galvin, both of San Jose. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher (Catherine) West and Timothy West (Monique Naumann) of San Jose, Calif., Kenneth Galvin of Denver, Colo., Christina (William) Kelley of Lafayette, Colo., and Jennifer (Technical Sergeant Ryan) Watson of Marysville, Calif; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Born in Malden, Mass. July 26, 1922, Connie married the love of her life, the late Albert Galvin, who returned from WWII a highly decorated veteran of the US Army Air Corps. Connie and Al married in July of 1944 in Boston, Mass. They moved to California in 1953 to raise their family and resided happily in the bay area for over 39 years, living in both San Jose and Santa Cruz. She spent most of her career working as a bookkeeper and office manager for various doctors and medical organizations in the San Jose area. Connie moved with her husband to Central Point, Ore. in 1988 where she spent over 20 years traveling and enjoying retired life in Oregon's Rogue Valley. They celebrated over 64 years of marriage together prior to his passing.
    Connie moved back to San Jose in 2010 and spent the final years of her life near her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a deeply passionate, determined, caring, and loving woman who dearly loved her family, her faith, and volunteering her time for various charitable causes. Connie also loved to travel, enjoyed music, and was a most graceful and elegant dancer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
    A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point, Ore. Father James Clifford will be presiding. Interment will be with her departed husband at Eagle Point National
    Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore.
