Lissel Arwen Dalton (Shorland), 33, of Tooele, Utah, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013. After hugging her family good night she passed away in her sleep. Lissel was born in Denver, Colo. March 28, 1980, but she always thought of Medford, Ore. as her home. She graduated from Phoenix High School, and went on to receive her Bachelors from BYU and her Masters from Concordia University. Lissel was the mother of four amazing girls who adore and love her.
Lissel's favorite quote was from Maya Angelou, The best part of life is not just surviving, but thriving with passion and compassion, and humor and style, and generosity and kindness." Her family and friends know Lissel lived this way. Lissel also had a favorite scripture which sums up where she is now. I have beheld His glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of His love (The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 1:15). Lissel, we look forward to when we can be found in your embrace again.
Lissel is survived by her husband, Tyler Dalton; her beautiful daughters, Halle (9), Ava (6), Cambrie (4), and Jacelyn (3); her parents, Michael and Patricia Shorland; her siblings, Jesse, Helen, Matthew, Marisa, and Iain; her grandparents, Desmond and Pansy Shorland; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, H. Glenn and Idelina Busby.
A viewing was held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Tate Mortuary in Tooele, Utah and a funeral service was held Friday, December 20, 2013 in the LDS chapel located at 1717 N. Berra Blvd., Tooele, Utah. A memorial will also be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Jackson County Library, Large Community Meeting Room in
