    SCIENCEWORKS HANDS-ON MUSEUM, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland, will host a Noon Year's Eve celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for kiddies who might not be awake at midnight. Kids can make their own party hats and noisemakers and participate in an egg-drop contest. A youth quartet from the Rum Tum School of Music will perform at 11 a.m., and — at the stroke of noon — there will be a sparkling cider toast and a balloon drop. Admission costs $10; $30 per family. Main St., Medford will throw a shindig complete with line dancing, live music by Flipside, spins by DJ Poppa, a balloon drop with more than $1,000 in cash and prizes and a champagne toast at midnight.
