Margaret Cecelia Loffer (Welk), 90, passed away at her home in Talent, Ore. December 29, 2013. She was born in Lakeview, Ore. November 25, 1923 to her parents, John and Nora O'Connor. After graduating from Lakeview High School in 1942, she moved to San Francisco, Calif. where she attained an associate secretarial degree and worked for Eastman Kodak Company.

Margaret moved to Medford, Ore. in 1947 where she worked in the office at Timber Products. In 1948, she married Warren Loffer and together they owned a farm in Phoenix, Ore. until Warren's passing in 1976. In 1991 she married Bernie Welk and they traveled a great deal until his passing in 1996.

She has been a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Medford for over 60 years. Margaret worked in the office at Harry and David for 18 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Providence Guild, volunteering in the gift shop for the past 14 years. For several years she also volunteered in the foster grandparent program in the Phoenix Schools.

She is survived by her children, Luana (Richard) Corbin of Phoenix, Ore., John (Tracy) Loffer of Corona, Calif., and Jim (Linda) Loffer of Tualatin, Ore.; her brother, Johnny (Betty) O' Connor of Shady Cove, Ore.; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Perl Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church. For information on the Mass time please call, 541-535-1043. Contributions can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
