Attempted arson, assault — Randy Shane McDougall, 30, of the 200 block of Benson Street, Medford. Medford police arrested McDougall late Tuesday on charges of attempted first-degree arson, attempted second-degree assault, reckless endangering, menacing and harassment. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $26,000 bail. Coercion — William Joseph Smith, 32, of the 500 block of Kenwood Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Smith late Tuesday on charges of coercion, strangulation, fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged in jail on $16,000 bail. Assault — Michael Allen Kent, 30, of the 2100 block of Roberts Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Kent early Wednesday on charges of fourth-degree felony assault, coercion and harassment. He was lodged in jail on $13,000 bail. Assault — Alexander John Bullock, 21, of the 1100 block of Withington Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Bullock Wednesday on charges of fourth-degree felony assault, fourth-degree assault, harassment and felony and misdemeanor counts of strangulation. He was lodged in jail on $21,000 bail.
Shots fired — 900 block of Broad Street, Medford. Medford police responded to a report of two shots fired at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries resulted, and no arrests were made. Police described the disturbance as an ongoing dispute between two brothers, whose names were not released. The case remained under investigation.
