Trinity Episcopal plans 'white gift' gathering

Trinity Episcopal Church will hold its annual gathering of white gifts for its outreach ministry during services at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at the church, 44 N. Second St., Ashland. Congregants are encouraged to bring donations of sleeping bags, coats, sweaters, blankets, nonperishable food items and small appliances all wrapped in simple white, or put check donations in white envelopes. The gifts will be donated to Ashland Food Project, Uncle Food's Diner and other organizations.

Rev. Anthony Hutchinson, rector of Trinity Episcopal, will lead an Interdenominational Blessing of the Waters ceremony at 4 p.m. Jan. 5, at Lithia Park in Ashland.

Sunday marks the 25th anniversary of ordination

Epiphany Sunday will mark the 25th anniversary of Rev. Jedediah Holdorph's ordination at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave. A celebratory reception will be held at 9:10 a.m. between the 8 and 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist services Sunday, Jan. 5.

Services at MCUCC include contemplative prayer

Medford Congregational United Church of Christ will hold contemplative prayer at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, in Lidgate Hall, 1801 E. Jackson St. A worship service will follow at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. Nursery care and church school are offered during the worship service.

Fellowship plans social hour after Sunday service

Mindfulness meditation practiced at library

Peaceful Rescue Sangha will hold a class titled "Essentials of Mindfulness Practice: A Course in Beginners Mind" from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 12, 19 and 26 at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland.

The class, led by Barbara Casey, who was ordained by Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, is for beginners and people with experience in mindfulness meditation. Cost is a suggested donation of $30. Call 541-897-0121.
