  • The legend of Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso continued to grow Tuesday, as the former Oregon Ducks standout was named Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America.
The second-round pick out of Oregon led the Bills in interceptions with four and finished third in the NFL in tackles with 159 stops. His strong play as a rookie earned him near mythical status on social media, with fans using the popular #LegendOfKikoAlonso hashtag on Twitter. Alonso also finished with two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries for the 6-10 Bills.
The 2012 Rose Bowl Defensive Player of the Game finished his career at Oregon with 143 total tackles, six interceptions and 3.5 sacks.
Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long, a first-round pick out of Oregon, was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
