    'SPOTLIGHT ON LORETTA LYNN': The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. at Camelot Theatre, 101 Talent Ave., Talent, in this story of Loretta Lynn's steep climb to Nashville superstardom. Before she was the chart-topping "First Lady of Country Music," Lynn was the daughter of a poor Kentucky coal miner and the second of eight children. At a young age, she married Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn, who bought her first guitar and encouraged her to perform. He helped her promote her first record, "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl."     ROGUE VALLEY SYMPHONY: Gustav Mahler's "Fourth Symphony" will take center stage in a series of Rogue Valley Symphony concerts that begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. RVS will be joined by soprano Suzanne Vinnik in the fourth movement. Other works showcased in the concerts will include Bela Bartok's "Dance Suite." The series will continue at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford; and 3 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. Ninth St., Grants Pass.
