  • BOISE, Idaho — The Southern Oregon Spartans got off to a rough start in their two-game series with the Idaho Junior Steelheads, falling, 7-0, in Western States Hockey League action on Friday.
    The Steelheads (29-3) outshot the Spartans, 35-17, and led 4-0 after the second period.
    Victor Carlsson led Idaho with one goal and two assists.
    Ian Dvorak made 24 saves for Southern Oregon (9-19-1-2).
    The Northwest Division squads square off again tonight.
