    Spartans fall again to Idaho

  • BOISE, Idaho — The Southern Oregon Spartans lost their second straight game to Northwest Division-leading Idaho in Western States Hockey League play Saturday, 5-4.
    The Junior Steelheads (30-3) took a 5-2 lead 12 minutes into the third period and held off a Spartans rally.
    Southern Oregon, last in the six-team division, dropped to 9-20.
    The Spartans' Austin Satorius scored three goals, including the last two on power plays to put pressure on Idaho. His final goal, on assists by Ging Martin and Tyler Lazarek, came with just under five minutes to play.
    Lazarek tallied the Spartans' other goal, and he and Martin each had two assists.
