  • The Chamber of Medford/Jackson County is showcasing its new members from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at The Expo.
Chamber Prime Time will feature the products and services of 50 members at Padgham Pavilion, in the largest such event by the organization.
"We had such success with one at a Medford Rogues game in August that we decided to try it at The Expo and see how many show up," said Paula Smith, marketing and sales vice president for the chamber.
Previous winter Prime Time events, held at what is now the Inn at The Commons, drew 200 to 500 people, she said.
"This is going to be pretty big," Smith said. "Our booths are all sold out; I can't fit anyone else into the venue."
The chamber added 150 new members last year during its membership drive, pushing its total to more than 1,500.
"About 80 percent of membership is from small business," Smith said. "This gives them a chance to tell the community what they do and for the community to get to know them better."
Admission is free. Some $6,000 in prizes will be given away, and local band the Seaons will perform.
Kelly's Automotive is accepting peanut-butter donations at 2990 Biddle Road for its annual food drive.
The drive, which lasts through mid-February, helps refill food pantries in Jackson County after the holidays. The auto service shop is working with ACCESS.
Anyone donating a 40-ounce or larger jar of peanut butter will receive a free set of windshield wipers.
