  • Community Health Center has hired William North as chief executive officer to replace Peg Crowley, who retired after 26 years as executive director in December.
North brings more than 20 years of experience working in community health centers and the health care industry, including president and CEO of Community Health System in Colorado Springs, Colo.; CEO of Healthcare Solutions, a private health care consulting company; HealthGrades, a hospital and physician ratings company; and most recently executive director of HealthFirst Bluegrass Inc. in Lexington, Ky.
"We are excited to have been able to find such a strong, innovative professional to lead Community Health Center through the changes occurring due to health-care reform," CHC board president Sue Watkins said in a release.
North received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado, a bachelor of science/business administration in accounting/finance from the University of Southern Colorado, and obtained his certified public accountant license while living in Colorado.
As CEO, North will be responsible for a budget of about $8 million and 106 staff members. The agency served more than 10,000 patients in nearly 38,000 medical visits in 2012.
Dutch Bros. Coffee will hold its annual "Dutch Luv" event all day Valentine's Day at its 30 Jackson and Josephine county locations.
Every donation of three cans of food is good for a free specialty drink or coffee of any size. All food donated will go to the ACCESS Food Share Pantry Networks in both counties.
The event brought in 21,959 pounds of food in one day at Medford stores during 2013. Foods rich in protein, such as peanut butter, canned tuna and meat, and beans are most needed, but donations of any non-perishable food items will be accepted.
Financial donations also can be made online at www.accesshelps.org. Users should click the "Dutch Luv" button and choose a donation amount.
