    Ashland is celebrating this afternoon and evening the dedication of its new $30,000 armory, with Governor Oswalk West and wife the guests of honor. Jackson County and Ashland city officials and prominent citizens from all parts of the county will participate in the exercises: Officers of Medford's military contingent will also attend in dress uniforms. Governor West and Mrs. West passed through Medford this morning. Ashland business houses will be closed from 2 to 4 o'clock. A large delegation from this city is in attendance.
    The principle event this afternoon is the reception to the chief executive and the dedicatory exercises. The G.A.R. and W.R.C. organizations will take part in the ceremony. A banquet will be served in the armory by the ladies of the relief corps. In the evening a ball will be held in the armory, Governor and Mrs. West heading the grand march.
    The artillery band will furnish the music for the occasion, and addresses made by prominent citizens. The Ashland militia company has been busy for a week decorating their new quarters. The military dignitaries will be in full dress. The social life of the valley will be represented at the grand ball this evening.
