Born February 27, 1929 in El Centro, Calif. to Robert and Florence McCall. An early Imperial Valley pioneer, T.D. McCall was Peggy's grandfather. T.D. was the first president of I.V. Pioneer Association. His grapefruit orchards east of Imperial made the Encyclopedia Britannica early 1930 as the largest in the world.
Peggy attended Rose School until third grade, then Lincoln School, graduating from Imperial High School in 1947, and attended I.V. College. She was the model photographed with the controversial Tucker automobile when it was previewed in El Centro.
She was employed at Pioneers Memorial Hospital and later by William C. Wilson, M.D. of Brawley.
She married Ted Ryder and they moved to Medford, Ore. a year later. It was her home until she went to be with her Lord.
The last 35 years of her life was pent in a Bible study, either as a student or a discussion leader.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert, Gerald, and Frederick.
She is survived by husband, Ted; children, Peggy Yvonne Ronning, Franklin Marlow, and Paul and Richard Ryder; and six grandchildren.
Interment will be in the McCall Pioneer Family plot at the Evergreen Cemetery, El Centro, Calif. There will be a graveside service Friday February 7 at 11:00 am.
