Idaho starts fast in win over Spartans

Jesper Jensen had two goals and an assist to lead the Idaho Junior Steelheads to a 7-1 win over the Southern Oregon Spartans in a lopsided WSHL tilt Saturday at The RRRink.

Jensen got the scoring started only 3:24 into the game to kickstart the visitors' quick start. He then assisted on Victor Carlsson's goal 13 minutes later, and Idaho (32-4) eventually led 3-0 heading into the second period.

Southern Oregon's Cy Jensen got the Spartans (10-21) on the board with a shorthanded goal early in the second period, but the Steelheads, who were 3-for-5 on power plays, tallied two more of their own in the second and two in the third to win going away.
