  • A Medford woman is in jail on assault and attempted murder charges after police say she stabbed her estranged husband and a woman Saturday morning.
Police said Maritza Guadalup Duran-Bencomo, 21, of the 1900 block of Orchard Home Drive, Medford, broke through the rear door of husband's home in the 800 block of Olympic Avenue, Medford, and stabbed him in the chest and one of his female friends in the arm with a knife. Multiple other people were in the residence at the time of the attack, but no one else was injured, Medford police Sgt. Darrell Graham said.
The victims declined medical attention at the scene.
Duran-Bencomo was arrested on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. She remained in jail Sunday on $3 million bail.
Graham declined to release additional details or identify the victims.
