  • A mobile propane delivery service, billing itself as the only such enterprise between Portland and Sacramento, has opened in Jackson County.
Propane dealers don't typically service customers with tanks smaller than 200 gallons, said Skylar Fuhrman, who delivers propane for tanks of any size.
Fuhrman is joined by Tamara Berry, Tom Berry Sr. and Tom Berry Jr. in the startup known as Propane 2 U.
The partners discovered the niche market when a relative couldn't get delivery to a motor home. He researched the business, acquired the licenses and certifications and acquired a tanker for delivery from a South Dakota energy firm.
"We accommodate people the bigger companies won't deliver to," said Fuhrman, who was previously a manager at Lids, a retail store in the Rogue Valley Mall. "No one would deliver to a motor home or recreational vehicles; we do forklifts and barbecues, too."
The fuel costs $3.25 to $3.50 per gallon; the company operates in Jackson and Josephine counties.
The business is on call 24 hours a day. The telephone number is 541-944-0011 and the Facebook page is Propane 2 U.
The Talent Chamber of Commerce is seeking support and volunteers for the June 20-22 Southern Oregon Grape Fair.
An organizing session for the Grape Fair Committee is set for noon Thursday, Feb. 13, at Talent City Hall, 110 E. Main St.
The June event is designed to celebrate the variety of products derived from local vineyards.
The festival will kick off with the Talent Art & Music Festival and feature vendor booths, live entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, wine tasting and a bicycle race.
