    • email print
  • About 15 teachers and their union president gathered on the steps of the Medford School District administrative offices tonight to announce their "utter disappointment" in 11th-hour negotiations over a contract.
Medford Education Association President Cheryl Lashley vowed bargaining teams would continue until 5:59 a.m. Thursday, a minute before the teachers' scheduled strike.
Lashley said there was still no agreement between the district and the union over a health insurance cap, retirement benefits, working conditions and salary.
The union made no major announcement at the press conference, which lasted less than 15 minutes.
