It is with heavy hearts that Heather and Pamela Curlee share the news that our father, James David Dave Curlee, passed away unexpectedly January 7, 2014, as we held his hands and sang to him.
After being discharged from the Army, Dave settled in the Rogue Valley. He was an avid outdoorsman and felt that the Rogue Valley was the most beautiful place in the world. In 1980 Dave married Lori Trilling at the Natural Bridge along the Upper Rogue River, and shortly after they moved to Medford. Dave began his career at Northwest Printed Circuits before moving on to spend the rest of his working years at Rogue Technical Services in White City. Dave and Lori raised their two daughters in Medford, where Dave was a constant fixture at soccer games, swim meets, and countless school concerts and events. His daughters will never forget the sound of his voice loudly cheering for them from the stands.
After years of hard work and sacrifices to provide for his family, Dave set out to find his joy and passion, for he was aware that he could not know what the future would bring. He spent the past seven years laughing with his friends, soaking in the beauty of nature, taking walks with his dog, eating Sunday dinners with his daughters and their family, and sharing his love with his family and his friends. We mourn his passing, but know that he will always be in our hearts as a loving father, an inspiring father-in-law, a joyful Grandpa, a loyal brother, and a soulful partner.
He is survived by Pamela Curlee; Heather Curlee and Shawn Millard and their son Jamie; his older siblings, Danny (Carol), Sharon (Walt), Sheryl, Doris (Emil), and Jo; his partner, Kerri Brinkley; and his cherished nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be arranged to honor his memory. Condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and we encourage anyone touched by Dave's life to make a donation to the Storytelling Guild.
