Highway 101 north of Reedsport near milepost 206 has been closed for approximately 2 hours after 15 to 20 trees fell or are leaning toward the highway, Oregon State Police reported.

ODOT and OSP have been on scene. ODOT is monitoring the situation and is expected to remove the trees when it's safe to do so before reopening the highway.

High water and trees in the roadway have been reported in several areas along U.S. 101 between Brookings and Astoria, ODOT said in a news release, and these conditions are expected to persist until Sunday.

If you don't need to drive along the coast tonight or tomorrow morning, consider delaying your trip until the weather improves, ODOT advised.

Highway 34 about two miles east of Waldport is also blocked. Other coastal area roads may have some traffic restrictions.
